10/10/11 - Play "Sherlock's Clues for Cash"
In conjuctions with Waukesha Reads' 2011 program, LCGW is hosting a competition for cash in downtown Waukesha from 10/10/11 through 10/31/11 based on the characters from "The Hound of the Baskervilles." Game boards are available at Martha Merrell's Books and The Steaming Cup.
Ten local businesses will be posting clues and all clues eventually can be used at the display window in the five points to solve the mystery. Those who successfully solve the clues will be eligible to win a prize.
You can play over several days or just a few hours on a Saturday afternoon. The game is fun for tweens, teens, and adults. And the minimum donation is now just $1, so more people can play.

The Literacy Council of Greater Waukesha hosted its seventh annual Scrabble Games fundraiser on February 20, 2011 at Steinhafel's Super Store on Highway F in Waukesha.
Contestants did not play the usual form of Scrabble. In our version, team members work together and against the clock to quickly fill up their board with as many high-value words as possible. Corporate and independent teams participated with prizes awarded in both categories.
Congratulations to the winners:
- Corporate Team Champion: Waukesha County Technical College, composed of Barbara Nordberg, Josie Bellone, Sarah Finesilver, Drew Niedercorn, Cindy Schiller and Lynn Spangler.
- Independent Team Champion: Carroll University, composed of Donna Jansen, Adam Jansen, Bob Jansen and Cristie Spoerl.
